1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the CQ500 Index website (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. What the Site provides

The Site publishes the Carbon Quotient Ratio, the CQ500 Index, and related data and commentary, calculated from public SEC filings and companies' own emissions disclosures. See Methodology for how figures are calculated and sourced, including where a company is excluded rather than assigned an estimated value.

The Site and its data are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Source data can contain errors, and companies' own disclosures can themselves be incomplete or later restated — see Report a data correction if you believe a figure is wrong.

3. Not investment, legal, or accounting advice

Nothing on the Site is investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and nothing on the Site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. The Carbon Quotient Ratio is a risk indicator built from historical disclosures, not a prediction of future performance. Consult your own qualified advisors before making any financial decision.

4. Trademarks and permitted use

Carbon Quotient® and CQ500™ are trademarks of C.G. Rogers & Co., LLC. Editorial, academic, and research use of Site data and charts is free, subject to the citation and attribution guidelines on the Media page. Building a commercial or derivative product on Site data — an index-linked financial instrument, a licensed data feed, or integration into a third-party platform — requires a separate written license; see Media's “Commercial & derivative use” section.

5. Accounts

Creating an account is optional and free — no payment is collected for any feature on the Site today. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the Site, including automated scraping that disregards these Terms or the Site's technical rate limits.

6. Data corrections

Anyone may submit a proposed data correction. Submitting a correction doesn't obligate us to apply it — proposed corrections are reviewed at our discretion before any change is made to published data.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, C.G. Rogers & Co., LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its data — including any decision made in reliance on a figure that later turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete.
